50% of the world experiences menstruation and menopause… why does less than 10% of medical research explore these topics?
“You are not alone, you are not imagining things, and your body matters. Emily is such a wonderful and supportive guide... Simply understanding what is happening in my body through Emily's classes is a tonic. I wish this class had been available 10 years ago when my perimenopause journey was beginning.” -Yoga Therapy for Menopause client
If you’re lucky, as a child you had a knowledgable parent who openly communicated with you about menstruation, body changes, and maybe even the Big Change of menopause. Maybe you had an awkward sex ed class as a teen that taught you some reproductive health facts. Or perhaps you grew up with confusion, shame, and misunderstandings around the menstruating body.
As an adult you might be doing your best to navigate irregular menstrual cycles, endometriosis, or PCOS with the limited modern medical research and treatments (you have so many choices! will it be birth control or surgery?) available. Or you’re approaching perimenopause, not sure when or how it starts but hearing more about it with every scroll through the algorithm. Maybe you’re deep in the perimenopause continuum, sifting through all kinds of conflicting information from influencers and celebrity doctors (business is booming!) and trying to figure out what is best for you, specifically.
“The community you have created is amazing Emily. Several times in my life I have said that the universe sent me what I needed exactly when I needed it...and you are now on that list.” -Yoga Therapy client
To add insult to injury, it becomes more clear with each passing day that we live under an oppressive culture designed for struggle and extraction. Hyper competitive and obsessed with relentless productivity, mainstream culture is at odds with our instincts and intuition. We aren’t meant to live this way. You can feel that in your exhaustion, frustration, and worry about the state of the world. Despite all the efforts of culture, media, and sexism telling you otherwise, the truth is your cyclical body contains the blueprint for a more fluid way of life.
“The biggest emotional change is just feeling the joy of self acceptance and settling in to my body.” - Yoga Therapy client
Flowbodies is a four month program for anyone who menstruates (or used to!) and wants to tap into the “flow state” of cyclical living and body awareness. The program weaves together individualized care, rooted in Yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom, and group education on nervous system science, pelvic floor health, and all things menstruality. This is an invitation to a revolutionary way of experiencing your body and the world: as seasonal, cyclical, and integrative.
This is an online program, and all sessions and workshops take place via Zoom.

Flowbodies offers sliding scale options and payment plans. The standard rate is priced to be affordable in comparison to the current mental health therapy and yoga therapy rates in Pittsburgh, and respectful of the 1000+ hours Emily has invested into her education and certification. The supporting rate is a higher price point, and offsets the discounted rate, the lowest price point. You might determine which rate you pay based on your income and earning potential, your access or lack of access to financial assets and/or safety nets, housing security, your ability to shop beyond the necessities and take vacations, and other factors. You do not need to provide a statement of income to access the discounted rate, but please mindfully consider which price point reflects your current means. By offering sliding scale and payment plans, Emily hopes to meet a variety of income levels, while also sustaining herself as the provider.
